Hey, I'm Marc. I operate a little one-man, custom furniture shop in Vero Beach, Florida. I build one of a kind pieces, using the best of both worlds. I use tools and crafts from the 1800's (what I consider the golden years of furniture making), but I also have some of the most modern equipment out to date.
I work very closely with all my clients - who usually become close friends - to ensure that they get exactly what they envision. I will never build the same piece twice, so you are guaranteed a "Hole in the Wall Original".
I hand pick all my own hardwoods, from many parts of the country. Every piece has its own distinct characteristics. The wood speaks for itself. I never use endangered woods.
I have been in Vero Beach for about 26 years, and have been woodworking for much longer than that. I guess you could say most of my adult life has been dedicated to it.
I place the same care into the antiques I restore that I put into my custom furniture design and building. There is something about a piece of furniture that can be two or three times older than me but looks so much better.
Imagine what all that piece has seen in its life...
With the antiques that I restore, I try to use salvaged or reclaimed wood to get the age of the wood as close to original as possible.
